Mention a petrol strike ( which is yet to happen) and people panic buy! It is mayhem around here for buying fuel. I only want to buy my usual £15 worth of diesel but queues are so long that I gave up eventually. Many garages are sold out, but why? I dont understand people's mentality. Are their cars so important that I believe they would do anything just to get their precious fuel?
I am convinced that even in fuel reaches £3 a litre( yes I did say £3) people will still buy it and cut back on other things so they can still use their darling cars.
Thsi is crazy mentality and I, for one, think they get all they deserve.
I like my car but not to the point of putting it on a pedestal. Even if tanker drivers go on strike, it will only be for one day and it wont inconvenience me. I can cope with not using it for one day and have a day off. Money is not everything! Get a life, people!
Rant over and now for a cup of tea.

The crazy thing is they have only voted for a strike, they actually need to give seven days notice before they can actually strike.
So even when they announce a strike there will still be seven days before it happens.
The local rag had a picture of an Asda petrol station with "no diesel" signs but this station is known for running out of fuel often anyway.

My local petrol station has introduced measures to curb panic buying.
Customers are now strictly limited to three cold pasties per transaction.

But widespread panic is sweeping through Barcelona. It's been announced after last night's game that Messi's goal drought extends to 90 minutes.

I'm driving to the Lake District on holiday at the weekend ... hope I can buy enough diesel to get there and get some to come back with too. There's no public transport to where we are staying, and it is too far to cycle from Bristol with three kids & the wife's walking gear/backpacks/travel cot etc...

Its a bad thing for people who need their cars but i bet alot of people panic buying live within 5 miles of their place of work and dont think maybe i could find another way to work and that would save me money :cursing:

With Francis Maude suggesting repeatedly that people keep an illegal jerry can of fuel in their sheds, what hope do the less informed masses have?

I had a delayed start this morning and was able to enjoy a relatively free ride into London along the A5 and it was astounding the queues at each garage, particularly the Sainsburys one in Colindale which was 40+ cars long (I counted while waiting at the lights there )

While sitting in the queue there was someone walking down the road with a wheelie bin, I thought surely not, and indeed they just continued past the garage. I wonder what is the maddest container anyone will try and fill up.[/quote]

It was your duty to look in the bin and check for cats.
