Yes. A-C on sus fork is impossible to measure; are you stating the uncompressed length or compressed, or somewhere in the middle?

Find out the geometry of your frame - ie. what suspension correction it has - then get rigid forks to suit. 420mm A-C forks would replace older style 80mm travel sus forks and a frame that was sus corrected for 63-80mm sus forks.

I'm planning on going for an even shorter rigid fork (390mm) to replace a 100mm sus-fork.
My reasoning is that I want the geometry to be similar to my roadie/current commuter. Having worked out the geometry (let some air out of the forks) it turns out that the mtb will have a head tube angle of 70deg which is the same as the road bike.
Just waiting for the fork to arrive/be back in stock.
