HI,
New to this forum and road cycling at the age of 50 just signed up for my first 100km ride for charity. Really enjoyed training to date and feel I can do the distance in fact have on one occassion. My question is I have trained on Winter tyres throughout our british winter and am about to change to sliker road tyres. Which ones? and will they increase my speed? I have been told I will find a difference in the effort I have to put in to my rides!

Race tyres give a much better ride and are quicker (that's why they race on them).

I use Vredestein Fortezza Tricomps and have never found anything better.

I agree, except my summer/race tyre of choice are Michelin Pro Race 3.
Get lightweight inner-tubes too.

Bike will feel sharper and a bit zippier, will spin-up a bit quicker. I find the Michelins very comfortable to ride and have humoungous levels of grip wet or dry.
