Is a buff a good xmas present for someone who doesn't cycle?

I've nearly finished the xmas shopping today and just came up with this, so is it?

If they're a skier, angler or motorcyclist, then yes. I rarely use buffs cycling, but they're brilliant for long cold chairlifts. They're good under motorbike helmets, and I've often seen anglers in them.

They are awful to look at but great to wear on a cold morning , so i am torn on this one . They are like falling or tripping in the street , we all do it but hope no one sees it.
