almost ran over a few pooches running about off the lead that were hard to spot (especially one notable black labrador).
recently started riding w/ my late Father's bear bells. 2 bells on a strap jungle quite a lot. too bad dogs don't wear them, eh?

I don't mind getting lost, but it's the nighttime with such heavy traffic with headlights that made me sweat. I know where I went wrong. I'll just avoid being out in the dark. I have a phone but it isn't set up for navigation, only as a phone for emergencies.
yes riding at night requires some additional precautions

I prefer night rides in places that I know every very well & since I don't bike commute anymore, the cars are less of a danger on wooded trails. falling in the forest, at night, alone, is a liability, so I always tell Wifey where I'm going & when to expect me back. I don't ride outside of cell service & I'm sure to have a full charge & keep the phone warm in a body pocket, where I can reach it
