A fish out of water

Welcome
As a Geordie I knew Shields well. Used to fish there a lot and still remember one of the best chippies in the North East opposite the fish quay.
One day, many moons ago, I must have been about ten, me and my friends rode from Walker to the fish quay.
Anyway they had just finished hosing down the concrete slabs after offloading the catch, the concrete was like ice.
I was into watching speedway then, so showing off rode full speed on the concrete and tried to do a sideway skid.
You can guess what happened. I came down full force on the side of my head with a sickening thud, no helmets then.
Ride home, lump the size of an egg on my head , off to the R.V.I. Don't think I've been right since.
Enough prattling,...Welcome.
