Done that. Like the other methods, it only resolves it temporarily.

It seems to be a very common problem, that I haven't found anyone having a working solution for as yet.

As mentioned, I'm hopefully off to the local phone shop tomorrow. He's done some good work for me in the past, so I'll see what he can suggest.

Just in case anyone following is having a similar issue: I finally got to the local phone repair shop, and he had a look around and has diagnosed a fault on the charging port, and it needs replacing.

I'd looked on youtube previously how to do this, and it's faffy, with heatguns for glue and plungers to separate the bits required. I have no idea of the cost of the part alone, but at just under £30 for him to supply and fit it seems like a bargain to me.

Sounds like a great price for the repair, as they'll have to 'heat' & then re-bond the back on again.

I agree, especially as I know friends and family that have used him for several years for work that includes rebonding etc, and they've never had any comeback or issues.
