Hello,
Just wondering how much I can Crop a Tree on TPO without upsetting the Council.

Best speak to the council's Arboricultural Officer. That's what he/she is there for (well one of the reasons anyway). Taking advice from an actual council officer before you start means you won't upset the council to begin with.

Head Gardener is mostly right, you cannot touch the tree unless it is "dead, dying or dangerous" not even the smallest little snip without the local authority's consent.

It is effectively dealt with in the same way as applying for planning permission with corresponding large fines, there is a simple guide at this link http://www.naturenet.net/trees/tpo.htm

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll probably talk to the Local Planning Officer, I think that the proper title. By the way, I like the Jokes :-)
