Can't I just put a thick coat of ash and salt over my tyres? I reckon an inch will last me until spring. :sad:

"Old" might be the operative word here! :sad: I drew the conclusion that perhaps I was the only one old enough to remember coal scuttles. :sad:

Get a multifuel stove, you'll use a fraction ofnthe coal for more heat. Most chimneys dont need a special liner - thats just installers upping their profits.
