Don't Ford make a range of musical instruments?

Some good advice there about repairing it - PVA glue is your friend, it's a miracle product.

Ok...go to the cupboard, get yourself that old box of matches you left there after the last power cut. Fill the holes with white wood glue from B&Q, Ram some matches into the holes nice and tight, let it dry then level off the tops, then re screw the neck down...that just saved you £30.

As I got through that first sentence I thought 'Oh no, I know he said he only had fire and theft cover, but...:biggrin:

I've dropped my bass loads of times, and damaged the electrics (one pickup) once. Admittedly it's got loads of chips in the lacquer (and some f-ing great gouges too), but I like it that way. Even if there's something wrong in there non-active basses are electrically pretty simple.

Chances are it's OK.

Just like an old bike there is a certain beauty in the scars of honest hard work.

Wilful neglect is a different thing though.
