If this had been in effect 3 years ago , I would have had no compunction in asking, demanding that dopeycow 1 and then 6 weeks later dopeycow2 were tested.

Maybe if enough people are" hassled" when they say SMIDSY then they will stop saying it?

I'm all for it - had personal experience of this on Friday when I had to steer into the side of the road (and ended up being pulled out of a ditch) when I realised that the old dear travelling towards me just hadn't seen me and was aiming straight for me! It was a singletrack road and I had pulled up opposite a passing place for her to go by. She drove pst me quite oblivious that my car was lying at 45 degrees propped up by a hedge! A couple of horseriders saw the whole thing and could not beleive it either. Unfortunately this scenario is quite often played out in the sticks because people keep driving as there is no alternative public transport. They realise their eyesight is not what it used to be, but limit their driving to once or twice a week to the shops.
