A mate of mine has just bought THIS Triban 3 for £200, so decent bikes are available, you just need to keep your eyes peeled.

I know a guy selling a couple of bikes, but they are over budget I'm afraid.

It's a a Giant Defy 2 and he's in Bolton near Manchester, but it'd probably be double your budget TBH.

For the sake of £50 above your £250 budget, you might as well get a brand new (forum tried and tested and liked) Triban.
