Hope the cyclist is ok?

Typical lazy Beeb sh*te - 'accident' my @rse....!

Ah so if not an "accident" it must've been deliberate? .... Surely not?

Good to read from the update, that the cyclist was conscious, though it does sound nasty. Thoughts are with the cyclist, his family and anyone affected by the incident, at what must always be a difficult time. Wishing him a speedy recovery and a satisfactory conclusion to the impending investigation.

It's not good. Always incidents on that stretch. Fast and rather narrow, during commutes mega-busy with cars, trucks, cycles, motorbikes, mopeds, with bottle necks at both ends of the Southside, side-roads.

Not just cycles at risk. Motorbikes have gone down there. Last year (or maybe in Summer 09) wind actually blew a tree over, which crushed the cabin of a van, killing the driver! Those blue lanes haven't made things better - cyclists are just squeezed in. All of that inside lane should be a designated bus/cycle lane. After all, there's enough cyclists there, even during Winter, on the commutes now.

The close overtakes on that section are "legitimised" by the CS7's existence. It's quite bad, and the junction(s) near Clapham South are quite dangerous as well.
