Basic but stylish, 6 gear bike. It's "the right sort of hybrid" for pottering about and at £100 is an absolute bargain for a brand new bike, if not for yourself then to put away for a gift for someone else.

Woman's 17" The picture may be wrong with this one, details and reviews say cream and brown.

also, hello strangers, I'm sort of staying away from bike and internet things because I may not get to go cycling till September although I am going to be teaching several small children how to ride bikes this week.

There is a thread on here which includes a discussion on Halfords bike pricing: http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/carrera-tdf-ltd-edition.161516/post-3220014
This is not a £300 bike which has been reduced by £200 but a £100 bike which has been marked up for the required 28 days and then knocked down. So no real bargain I'm afraid.

Weirdly I think my local halfords is the place where it's marked up to £300, although I did once see it at £269. I saw it go down to £129 on halfords online last week but they had more sizes of both iirc (I've been watching the 17" since I gave my mother my Dutch shopper). It really is one of the least terrible options in the halfords hybrid range, especially if you are smaller. You can see that there are a couple of sister bikes to the ladies version in the range but right now they are £129 more for mudguards and £150 more for mudguards and a basket.

Remember kids, Apollo bikes are created by Satan and bring naught but misery and suffering to all, and modern Raleigh bikes are inexplicably heavy. Seriously, it's weird, there seem to be 3 or 4 kg more than there should be on most of their bikes, especially the tescos ones. I suspect Satan.
