First fixie arrived

I don't understand these fixie bikes....are there for riding in velodrome? Looks very lovely and prototype in white!

They are very strange to ride and this one is for leisure riding and trying to look cool, that will fail with me on it , but I think velodrome bikes are fixed too but have never rode one,

They are also great for commuting, especially in cruddy weather. Light, less fiddly bits to clean, less chance of destroying some overpriced bit of technology. My commute is about 10 miles, with about 300ft ascent, for which my cheap, old steel frame fixed wheel is excellent.

Never really "got it" with fixed wheel bikes. When I was a teenager my mate had a lovely Gillott fixie, but I could never get on with it. Hope you've got the corresponding white gear to go with it!
