Gravel Bike/Road Tyre Combo

Would this tyre be compatible with this bike as

Looking at using it for commuting and want a slightly road friendly tyre as opposed to the 40 width gravel tyre it came with

Sounds like it would certainly be suitable for your intended purpose. You won't get the same level of comfort of course but they'll be quicker on tarmac.

Literally any tyre that is in the right width range for your wheel rims will fit. The reviews I've found via Google for those DT Swiss wheels suggest a minimum of 35mm (eg...https://www.bikeperfect.com/reviews/dt-swiss-g1800-gravel-wheelset-review). And there is absolutely no point going for skinnier tyres- the weight and aerodynamic benefits will be microscopically small, and you'll lose comfort. Fit too narrow a tyre and it could be potentially dangerous- though 34mm would almost certainly be fine. There are fast road tyres available now in 35mm (eg Conti GP5000), there are touring options like Schwalbe's Marathon series, and there are faster gravel tyres (eg the G-One Speed and G-One Allround). For commuting I'd want something fast yet tough, those Vittorias are certainly on the racier side.

You can go down to 28mm for aerodynamic efficiency, but the margins are small esp at lower speeds and in chip and seal / pothole roads of the UK!
