My bike manufacturer says I have a 700x35c wheel, when I go to tesco (they have a special on) the innertubes have three number eg 700x35 - 40C

Is the second two numbers a range?

Please help...

Yep. Your inner-tube is good for 35 - 40c tyres.

Sorry more help...

I have a Trek bike which has the old tyre/style valves, all the ones I see are the tiny ones = is it better to go for the new type or hunt for a match. My pump does both both...

Do you have shraeder and are seeing presta?

If so, your rim will be drilled for shraeder so get them as tube could come through if you fit presta.

EDIT: What Leeds said!

In all honesty there is generally only 2mm or so difference in the width of presta / schrader valves, and as presta valves have a lock ring to secure it, Presta also hold higher pressures better than schrader valves.

I always use Presta valved tubes.

Try here for great prices on tubes.. http://www.innertubeshop.com/

These are the ones you need..... http://www.innertubeshop.com/products/touring-cx-700-x-28-36c-presta-42mm-also-27-28-5-bundle

Double check the sidewall of your tyres to confirm the actual size!
