Hi, from hilly Bedfordshire

Hi, I'm a new rider hoping to pick up loads of tips and advice. I've entered into 3 sportives this summer! Must be mad, and up until last September hadn't been on a bike since I was a kid!

My main motivation was to raise money for the British Hart foundation, yes I'm entered into the London to Brighton this year, after nearly loosing my fit and healthy husband to an aortic dissection a year ago. Funny enough though I've discovered I love cycling, though maybe not all the hills, and I live in a very hilly part of the UK, (the Chiltern Hills to be exact).

Anyway looking forward to reading all the threads and getting some ideas on everything x

Thanks for the welcome guys, went out in the rain today, didn't go as far as I wanted but at least I went out! And according to strava even did a PR Yay!!

Being an ex Luton boy, I used to think Beds was hilly, then I moved to Devon!! (I do still have painful memories of Bison hill round the back of the zoo, on a sunday mornings)
I'm sure you will get loads of help and encouragement from the guys and gals
