I'm off down to Dorset on Sept 4th, stopping in Salisbury that night and then on to the Steam Fair the next day. No plans after that.

Anyone about down that way?

My sister lives in Salisbury and LOVES the Dorset steam fair. She is a bit of a female Fred Dibnah though. I would go if it wasn't a 6 hour drive.

If you're going to Dorset, on no account miss the wonderful Bullbarrow Hill.

Better still, afore ye go, buy or download the Half Man Half Biscuit album "Trouble over Bridgewater" and listen to the song about the place. Highly recommended it is too.

I got three from each section on the fixed odds coupon
But I still don’t want to go to Cuba
‘Cos Cuba’s the new destination
Cuba’s the new Iceland
And it’ll be full of Italia Conti rejects
So no, I don’t want to go to Cuba
I’d much rather go down to Dorset, with its
Wonderful Bulbarrow Hill
Wonderful Bulbarrow Hill, alright

I’ve got fur in my kettle and a film on my tea
I’m living in a hard water town
But I don’t let it get me down
Far from it…
Should any man wish to make himself immortal by painting a picture of wretchedness, then he’d be wasting his time knocking on my door. Maybe go to Mr Galbraith’s over the road. There he is now, look, alone in his polytunnel with his pitiful competition onions, neglected for two weeks in Cuba. A no-rosette situation for Mr Galbraith.
Oh he shouldn’t have gone to Cuba
He should have just gone down to Dorset with its
Wonderful Bulbarrow Hill

I need to buy one of these
david_brown_cropmaster.jpg
A David Brown Cropmaster circa 1950

I bought one off my cousin to restore when I was 15 but after my mum died we moved out of the huge house/garden we lived in and I had to sell it without somewhere to store it:sad:

Ever since it's been like unfinished business, so I need to buy one.
