If you buy a second hand bike how would you know if the tyres have Kevlar protection ?
Is "kevlar protection" something you want, or something you wish to avoid?
See @Tom B swift response for a constructive answer, though that does rely on data and it's not clear whether this is an 'if I buy it' ie before purchase, or after. If the former, one is relying on information provided by the seller, unless one can actually inspect the bike beforehand. Ask for an in focus image of the relevant bit of tyre sidewall.

I never found Kevlar tyres to offer better puncture protection than any others and they don't ride very well. The primary source of puncture protection is the thread on the tyre. Once something sharp gets lodged in that a strip of Kevlar is going to do no more than slow it down before it breaches the tube - and I'd guess we're talking yards rather than miles before that happens.
