Well it had happen sooner or later I guess! Two months into cycling and had my first "off" this evening. Entirely my fault as I was cycling too fast on loosish gravel using my new continental sport contact slick tyres. Some grazes. lumps and having to ice my right knee somewhat but no major damage. Lesson learned I guess!

My first off was about a month in. Took a 90 degree bend in a park too fast (please note TOO fast, not FAST!), in the rain, witout realising there was a large drain cover right on the bend. You can anticipate the rest. Luckily was just cuts and grazes.

Bit of an old thread, but a current thread on brakes reminded me. One of my first offs, was caused by a fierce front brake on the left. I know unusual in the UK, but I had been riding fixed with just a L/H front brake. This bike however was a two braked geared bike. I was in the middle of the road, about to turn right and signalling with my right arm. Braked with my front brake and went over the bars! No serous injury.
