I'm recently retired and have more time now.
Several years ago I bought a couple of large frame bikes, a Schwinn LeTour and a Huffy, put on some newer parts I had from a wrecked bike, put on extra reflectors, lights, a mirror on each from a Yamaha 250 Virago that I updated the mirrors on, and new tires and tubes. I bought the bikes for $40 USD each and have less than $100 USD in each of them. The LeTour frame was in great shape. I painted the Huffy a black and silver theme and have wide-band caramel colored gum sidewalls on it. They look good, are comfortable, function perfectly and are fast enough for me. The main point is they give me a good workout and let me be out there along the riverbanks, in the country and along the rails to trails. When I'm really feeling it, I go 30 miles at a stretch. They also let me bop around town, since I live just on the outskirts of town. I know. Old School. Ride what you like, like what you ride. In addition to the Virago, I also have a 650 V-star. In addition, I run and shoot for pastimes.
