Joined this group December 31, 2017 to find a companion for bicycle tours. The thread on low vision cycling caught my attention, prompted me to join and reply as I am low vision/legally blind (vague label). The problem is this seems to be a U.K. site! I'm not likely to "pop" over the "Pond" for a few days ride but I shall stay a cyclechat member for a bit anyway. I can still bike tour tho'. I do a few overnights on a favourite and familiar road as well as a few 4 or 5 day rides with friends. I have done many multi-day rides supported and otherwise and my Epic Journey was from my house in Cottage Grove Minnesota to New Orleans Louisiana in 2012. Myself and 2 friends followed the Mississippi River Trail for 1803 miles. Riding a bike (as well as quality of life) requires some adjustments and creativity being nearly blind but I can still enjoy the ride.
