Hi,
My name is Andy I've been mountain biking now for 3 years. Due to the nature of where I ride and the weather I've decided to try road biking to maintain fitness during all weathers. Up until now I've used a spare 29" hardtail with road tyres to ride some local road routes, but a friend has lent me an old Carerra Vanquish to use. I went out last night and found that maintaining speed was a lot easier and think that I will enjoy swapping to and from the trails.
My aim is getting fitter and I'm not looking at being competitive. I'm 40 now and have not been on a road bike since I was 13, so initially it was strange. I'm also not the lightest rider at just under 16 stone.
I've got questions on a suitable new bike so I will post that in the relevant section.
Cheers
Andy
