Didn't get out on New Years day but did on the 2nd. It was wet but clear skies and not much wind. Was heading out from Bromsgrove into the Clent Hills for some good hill training. Only managed 3.14 miles before the back tyre punctured. No problem, spare inner tube out of the saddle bag and tyre leavers out from the brand new Christmas pressie tool kit. All re-assembled and started pumping the back tyre up, but it it just wasn't holding any pressure. Looked at the valve and the centre part of the Presta valve was bent and then broke off!!
Had make a call home to get picked up by my wife who hadn't even finished her breakfast. Fortunately I had some new tyres and inner tubes on order and they have now arrived are fitted ready to go.
Hoping the next ride goes a little better.
