Pifco lights

Acquired these lights which are period for some of my bikes. Originally used P800 batteries which are no longer available. I’ve seen adaptors which can be inserted and then AA batteries fitted. Any one done this? Also looking to replace front light glass as this is cracked. Again looking for replacement glass and ideas where to source. Thought a glass cutter could cut out a 62mm circle??

Cracking find. How about polycarbonate,or the plastic from a motorbike tax disc holder? I'd be going for an LED and 18650 conversion myself.

check out the thread "old fork-mounted bike lights revived" and what DRAGO said above... I have one in a box of OLD electric stuff... preferred dynamo stuff in those days.... lights have advanced for the better but they would look good on a period bike

You can get 3V battery to D cell adaptors on eBay that look exactly like Ever Ready 3V batteries!

To be honest not exactly sure of age, I would guess perhaps a bit later? I'm sure someone will have a better indication on date.

By the way, those lights look delightful. But LED conversion would be worth looking in to unless you just want to admire your front tyre in the dark

These are the adaptors. Not cheap but rather pleasing. You can pick your Ever Ready "era".

I was surprised at the value too. I work in recycling and just picked these up from one of our depots. Its amazing what people throw away. The Shogun aluminium bike i posted on here also came out of the scrap!
