Whats a reasonable rate per mile, are there any official guidelines anyone knows of?

40p per mile up to 10,000 miles for a car is what we use.

See Inland Robbery website or AA/RAC. They all do their own rates and calculations.

yep, 40p per mile for the first 10,000 and then 25p per mile there after.
