Shouldn't have been riding with her iPod in. She's lucky to be alive after that.
Even with her head down she should have been aware of her positioning on the road.
Helmet probably wouldn't have mattered given how she hit the windscreen.

Just how dangerous is it to listen to music whilst riding?
I almost always have my headphones in... but I don't have them blaring... just enough to hear the song. I'm never overtaken by a car I didn't know was there and I never ride long parts of the road with me head down... but is it still dangerous?

It must be great though, when a bod comes along after your fall and hands you your new bike ;)

Assuming she gets given a road bike to train on that is

Lucky girl, gws.
