With the snow and ice on the ground today, I decided to commute on my mountain bike. On the commute home after a long day, I have two options:

Continue straight on - my usual route home, down a busy and fairly boring road. Or turn right, ascending a steep hill via a quiet peaceful country lane, and descending down some beautiful singletrack and forest pathways to within half a mile of my house.

I'll let you work out which option I picked.

....Or turn right....,

Yeah, turn right!

Looks like an ideal commute with a CX type bike. I would be clock watching all day waiting to get out on that rouote.

I love it when I can get come that way - Unfortunately for a large percentage of the year it is ridiculously muddy, making it hard to navigate and even harder to clean the bike afterwards! That pretty much leaves when the ground is frozen during the winter, and the brief period where the ground is dry in the summer!

Just found a Panorama I took whilst up on the hill, which can be viewed here!
