It was such fun that it seems a shame to stop at Bordeaux. How nice it would be to finish the job and go all the way to the Med.

Bordeaux to Marseille seems to be about as far as Caen to Bordeaux....

There's always one know-all isn't there. I should have said that the winner gets to ride at the back with me all day every day and listen to me moaning on about the hills.

You make that sound like a booby prize. Surely some mistake.

You've certainly spoken (very eloquently if I may say so) for Helen and I Adrian.
It was a marvellous effort and it resulted in a fantastic holiday.

We got home a little while ago after a very relaxed trip.
A bottle of H. Blin, a souvenir of our 1st week away, is crash cooling in the freezer and we'll be having pizza for dinner.

The team-work aspect is one thing I miss about football.
Some of my best cycling memories are where a group has got together and worked to help out the slower riders.
I've helped out and I've been helped; I've enjoyed both ends of it.

I'd rather shun the coast. Much busier than the hinterlands, congested with cars, more expensive and yet quite hilly.
