I've noticed that when you open a forum some of the little bits of paper at the LHS of the topic shrink, come back and then shudder. Some are white and some are orange.

Has anybody deciphered these heiroglypsh?

If you have read it, its white, if you havent, its orange.
On the sides of the topic titles, there is that blue arrow which takes you to the first post you havent read. It will be in orange because you havent read it, but the one above you have read is in white.
The ones next to the titles that wiggle are hot threads, the orange wiggle ones are normal threads with posts you havent read.
Sorry if i got the wrong end of the question.

So that's what the blue arrows are for!

Are you saying that the wiggling means that a thread is hot?

The red ones mean that someone from the forum who you've been winding up, is outside your house armed with an axe. ;)

Yes, so you have to put on oven gloves to touch the mouse or keyboard. Even when you are replying;)
Not sure what makes them hot, a certain number of posts in a short space or time, or lots of views or something, dunno.
That little blue arrow to take you to first unread post i find is brilliant, saves alot of effort finding that new post.
