Living Legend & Old Fart
I wrote a few weeks ago that I had refurbished my old 'Hippo Bike' and was going to publish some photos but things have moved on from there!
There was a problem with the old frame - the rear triangle had spread and although the LBS did cold bend it, it soon sprung apart again. Would it be safe to ride? I was not going to put it to the test! So a new frame was needed. I already have two Treks in my stable (a 7200 hybrid and a 520 tourer) so it seemed natural to go for another Trek. My LBS said that they could get a 62 cm Trek 2.5 within a few days so that was decided. They offered me a hefty discount and I did not ask if it was the red & white 2010 model or the blue, silver & white 2011 one - both looked nice.
We got a phone call yesterday saying that the bike was ready for pick up!
It is the 2011 model. It is now all Shimano from Tiagra to Ultegra, bought on availability, intended use & price.
