The very sad thing is that I remember the original...................the pictures are familiar but I haven't seen them for 40 years, so it's not suprising that I remember them, but not too clearly. The one where the coppers are holding up their nightsticks is a very vividly held memory. I'm sure Freud would have something to say about that.

There was one of the 1a to 12b Peter & Jane books that I was particularly attached to as Peter and Jane built a mock spaceship in the garden. You have to remember this was about the time that man went to the moon and I recall distinctly my parents getting me up in the middle of the night to watch 'one small step for man' on our b & w telly. Smashing stuff. Youth of today, don't know they've been born.........
