Wood. We have a tree feller who cuts the wood from the business he gets and he sells it. I never use coal , it's horrible smelly dirty stuff.

We only use Burnbright Ovals and certified kiln-dried wood these days.

Both much cleaner than coal and the tree that someone has just chopped down to straightaway throw on their fire ie not properly dried before use - happens a lot up here.

The clue is in " wet wood" it doesn't burn. We have a log store and all the wood we buy is in there for months and is the right water content.

I've cleaned my fire out and re blacked it as well. Mr WD will replace a couple of the fire bricks and clean the flue that is outside and it will be ready to go in the winter.
