Triban 3 front caliper removal

I can't get the front caliper out of the forks. The retaining bolt comes out ok, but the caliper won't pull out. Advice please.

My penny farthing doesn't have calliper brakes so can't help you there...

I would try gently tapping out the calliper with an allen key or similar. It is probably jammed in with a load of road gunk.

Is it a recessed , allen bolt type fixing? If so, undo the bolt a few turns then tap it gently with a hide or rubber mallet. If you haven't got one of them, place a block of wood on the bolt and then whack it gently with a normal hammer.

Yes it's the sort with a recessed hex socket. I was just checking I wasn't overlooking something. To the HAMMERS!
