Advice wanted please.

A friend in Spain has asked me for advice on buying an elec. assist mountain bike. But:
1) I don't know anything about elec bikes,
2) I'm currently in USA, and
3) Her budget is low. €1500 low!

Any ideas? My view is that €1500 will only get her complete tat.

I’d suggest she goes to her local Decathlon, they have a decent few options from their Rockrider range around her budget and a reputation for solid value for money bikes (compared to the big brands, not tat), a decent warranty, massive infrastructure in Europe and decent staff.

I'd second the Decathlon suggestion. I purchased a EST-900 just prior to Covid at £1600. It then jumped to £2200 due to demand and now has come down to a sensible amount. They are solid and mine has been all over Spain from Seville to Santander. Has about 4K miles on it with only the tyres needing replacing. However it is a heavy beast.

And if there are any issues anywhere in Europe, there is a Decathlon store.

She can also 'pimp' it with some of the suggestions here
