Cycling is great if you stay clear of the fens.

once you get to Whittlesea, you're on the edge of the fens....flat, featureless and bloomin windy.

I cannot remember anyone on this forum saying: "Cycling is great if you stay clear of the hills", or
"once you get to yonder, you're on the edge of the hills .... ups, downs and bloomin hard work".

Basically the "fenland hill" is the longest hill climb in britain ... i can cycle 23 miles
to peterborough and be "climbing" all the way when pedalling into a 15mph wind.
