Hi there,

I looking to buy my first turbo trainer on a budget of around £50 (times are very hard!) and wasn't sure to go for either a new one or something possibly better but second hand. I think I have a few decent options but would really appreciate anyone's thoughts here. I am not a hardcore cyclist by any means and realistically will not be riding on longer than half an hour. I'm around 11st so weight won't be an issue. Using for a standard road bike.

or one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...rainer&rh=n:318949011,k:BDBikes+turbo+trainer

I have tacx sirius which I bought second hand for £60. It does the job fine but I absolutely hate using it. A TV with sufferfest on makes it bit more bearable though.

I have bought some lights so that I can do some night rides rather than spending half hour on the turbo in the garage.

I got one of these which I have used this winter. No frills no fuss works realy well and does the job. The expensive models don't make turbo training any more fun! Going to get some rollors next winter as they seem less tedious. Unless your going to get really serious and want something with a power meter and dvd's. Bluetooth that links to your phone app etc. Then there's no need to spend anymore. But I agree with the above spring has sprung go out for a ride and keep your sanity!
