To anyone of my age (or thereabouts) Oliver Postgate was the voice of our childhoods.

The Lowry Gallery, Salford. They are there until 12th Oct.

Bagpuss and his friends can be seen at the Canterbury Heritage Museum normally. Today we saw an original Bagpuss, but replicas of Yaffle, Gabriel, Madeleine and the Mice. Replicas made by Peter Firmin himself though. The originals are at Canterbury.

Some years ago I went to an event and met a Clanger, and Peter Firmin, and his wife, who knitted them. I was able to thank them for my childhood. Oliver Postgate should have been there, but sadly he was ill.

Only just over the Quay from the Imperial War Museum North, if you want to make a day of it. Have to say, the War Museum is a bit of a downer after the Clangers, but very thought provoking.

The thing about Clangers is that they are the size you want them to be

I think that I saw them as "my size" when I was a child as that was my reference point
