Pedant's note re the elephant's head on the gable end: this is a theme picked up on a number of buildings in BC. Apparently there is an historic Clive of India connection. But it seems nobody told the mural artist, who seems to have depicted an African elephant?

The now-restored Mulranney Park Hotel. Built by Great Western and Midland railway company in an effort to drum up some trade to save the line and sell luxury weekend breaks combined with rail tickets but it didn't work. An idea that was possibly ahead of its time as luxury hotel breaks seem to be a thing nowadays.
