I’ve taken the plunge and ordered an Ioniq 5. It seems to offer a good all round package for a family car. Quoted range of 300+. So I would hope to get 250 on a long journey. And that’s enough for me.
It claims to charge very quickly if connected to a super charger. And can access the Tesla network.
Not expecting delivery until September!
Gives me plenty of time to sort out the home charger.

Seen loads of them around where I live. Enjoy :okay:

My daughters boyfriend has taken our Nissan Leaf for work. He's been doing big miles 200+ per day. He's got a few apps, Instavolt, Ionity and Zap map. So far not encountered much in the way of rapid charging difficulties.

IMHO it's one of the best EVs on the market. Always gets very solid reviews and I know two people with the Ioniq who love it. Looking forward to your full review ;-)

They’re nice cars and get good reviews, sharing the underpinnings with the Kia EV6.

Out of interest are you getting it on a PCP to protect yourself from any volatility in depreciation as the market/prices continue to settle?

Orders now being taken in the UK for the all electric Dacia Spring. At a realistic price of under £15,000 this could be a real game changer. This Dacia Spring is just what I have been waiting for as we only do a small mileage each year and our Ford Ka is getting on for fourteen years, suits me Sir.

Quite like the look of the new Kia Ev3, medium sized, 30kish.
Shares a lot of the tech from the EV9.

About the right size for me, decent range, one for the short list.

The rears were more worn than the fronts. On all honesty I should have changed them at 88-90k. They had gone a too far for my liking

Our Nissan which is front wheel drive gets mid 20k miles out of the fronts.

Your not trying, new tyres on work van at 80,500 miles, only then because the rear ones were worn like a 50p coin on the inside edge, due to being permanently loaded up and the rear suspension is of the independent type, it should really be a beam axle like the Transit Custom, I reckon if it had been, 90,000 on the original tyres was a real possibility.
