An old railway water tower?

It's recorded on the Geograph website has having been built in 1910 to supply the village of Dorrington.

I've passed this one practically every weekend for 12 years; today I thought I'd stop and take pic.

I extended my evening commute and on the way I saw the Meppershall Water Tower on Stondon Road

I then went out to the A1 to bag some OS tiles and came across the Langford Water Tower
