I have recently upgraded my road bike from a Claude butler 21 speed 3front x7 back to a specilised roubaix elite
My new bike is a lot harder when going uphill The rear cassette is a shimano 105 10 speed 1-28
I have been told a change to a MTB 10 speed cassette would make the uphill climbs much easier
Any thoughts

you will probably need a longer rear derailier aswell.

Have a very close look at your existing rear derailleur, the model number is engraved on it somewhere. Likely to be either RD-5700 which has a maximum capacity to 28T or RD-5700-A which has a maximum capacity to 30T. Those are the "official" limits. You can push it a bit beyond those. If you have the "A" model then an 11-32 MTB cassette will almost certainly work; might be a bit marginal with other one....

indeed

a triple with a 28 on the back sounds like enough to tackle anything going

is the 1 an 11?
