1000 Miles

According to my wee computer thingy I have just done over 1000 miles this year

This is the third summer I have cycled to work, two years ago I would have been lucky to do about 200 miles as I was cycling one or two days a week. Last year I did 450 through the summer so I am really pleased to ahve got over the 1000 this year.

I am planning on keeping cycling through the winter so just need to work out a target to aim for before xmas.

I'd set myself the 1000 mile target this year as well. In the end, I hit it in July and passed 1500 yesterday.

Actually, I have no idea how many miles I have done this year. 10 miles a day on average 4.5 days a week, probably about 46 weeks a year.

Probably just over 2000 miles a year. Oh wait a minute I did Pedal for Scotland. make that 2055 miles

Not sure about the 2000 before xmas but think i will aim for another 300 between now and then. I am not wanting to set my stakes to high as I draw the line at cycling in the snow and ice and not sure what sort of autumn we will have this year!!

It is worth pointing out that my computer is showing 1000.2 miles and i did go round the block once before stopping this morning to get it over the 1000

644 for definite from odometer, but about 800 in total since 10/06/08 as I didnt get it straight away, 1000 before Christmas, it may not sound much in car terms but its a fook of a long way ounder your own steam, in the wind, the rain and dodging traffic.

Nothing like the Big 1000! Congrats, you deserve it, keep up the good work! Sadly, there aren't that many people who can even do 1000 miles on a bicycle in a year.

Well done ! I remember the magic of hitting my first 1000 - I felt like a superhero. Make sure you take photos of the odometer showing the magic number.

I've done about 1900 on the new bike since late April, and I've forgotten how many on the old bike - need to check the odometer on that tonight. I reckon I've done around 5000 miles commuting since April 2006 - and, like the OP, I started by only doing 2 days a week until the October when I went 4 days and continued through the winter.

You've now hit the magic mark - from now in in the 1000's will be flying by.
