I have only ever seen one of these on the track at Donington Park a couple of years ago. I think the rest were a bit too terrified to risk binning them.

Very nice

Do you mean MV in general, or the Senna in particular?

There are only 14 Senna's in the UK - I won't be tracking mine!

Cheadle - sorry to go off-topic...

Stop it!

the only thing that's stopping me buying another is the fact that wherever I could scoot I could cycle, and it would make me lazy.

One of my neighbours (who I ride out with occasionally) cycled non stop from stroud to Lands End last year (19 hours in the saddle  ) He could cycle anywhere given enough time and is a real athlete, but realistically he has a nice car for commuting as he is realistic about the time constrants of cycling big distances.

Riding a m/cycle for many isn't about commuting, as is riding a cycle.

I had the use of a PX100 for a short while when I was 17. It was a fun scoot around town.

Thanks for the replies. I've just got back from looking at a few chinese bikes (Hartford and Skyjet?). They don't look like they'd last 1 winter to be honest. They look nice-ish from a distance but I guess they're the equivalent of £199 full susser MTBs from a catalogue?

The Vespa idea doesn't really appeal, too London for me and those big scoots just seem a bit lardy, especially with only a 125 engine. I tried one last summer in Kefalonia and it couldn't really get used to the continual gearbox.

The guy in the shop talked about accelerated learning to get a full bike licence so I'm going to look that up now. I have an urge to splash some redundancy cash!

BC - stop showing off:laugh: - that bike is the absolute biz

I expect he means the DAS - Direct Access. Good, but make sure you follow it up with some advanced training afterwards.

My old Triumph 900 Adventuer and my 600 Kawasaki supersports....

Nice isn't it, I like to look at it as much as ride it. I want another, a PX this time, it'd be nice to use the brakes and feel an effect, one Vespa is not enough. The motorbikes sit unloved in the garage unless it's motorway stuff.

What's London about them?

For distance commuting I use this, economical and as cool as ***, whatever you get, get something cool or you won't look after it. Please get training if you do the direct access.

We are the mods, we are the mods, we are, we are, we are the mods

Is that 20 miles each way of commuting or 20 miles round trip?

I've done a long commute before now and once you get used to it, it's okay. And days when I was feeling rough or lay-zee, I'd use a folding bike so I could cycle, catch the train part way, and then cycle the rest.

He said each way.
