For some reason since this morning when I go on Facebook it now comes up with this at the start of the address bar.............

The only thing I'm aware I've done that I've not done in a while is run CCIeaner.

I've read a bit about the encryption etc, but TBH it might as well be in Greek to me

So can anyone tell me how I can simply sort this out as it now prohibits exactly what I can and can't access/view on FB.

Thanks.

[EDIT] perhaps should add this is when using Chrome. It doesn't happen in IE.

It can mean a number of things from a invalid certificate, to not all the sites content is passed over a secure connection, if you click the https it will tell you what the issue is.. with more information we might be able to advise

Ahh yep that helps... the key in that for me is the bit that says the page contains "resources which are not secure" as such your getting the line through https:// as a warning to advise you of this. If you looked at the page source you would see components of the page referenced through http:// which is not encrypted .
In effect Chrome is doing its job by warning you, and its a issue with how the site is constructed which the website developer needs to address.
Internet Explorer does not do this as it does not strictly follow web standards and is rubbish.

In the attempt to be helpful, I have also undertaken some investigation into this for you, the insecure content seems to come from Facebook advertising third partys you can read more about this at the following url
http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/g31bezMR_Kc

It appears you can fix the issues by blocking adverts but its worth remembering sites such as Facebook and cycle chat depend upon adverts to fund them, but then again the developer should fix the issues so you don't have to work around them.

My advise would be to leave Facebook and claim a little bit of your life back
