My mate was telling me at the match today that his sister's 16-year old grandson was riding home from his girlfriend's house and when he never arrived, his father texted the girl to say "you can send him home now". A text came back saying he'd left an hour before so the father re-traced the lad's likely route in his car and saw the ambulance crew clearing up. So far, from what my mate John knows, the family have been informed the police attach no blame to the driver and the family were expressing sympathy to the driver at the kid's funeral. The lad had just scored an impressive set of exam results at GCSE at SFX and had expressed an interest in being a doctor. Big sympathies to all concerned.
