This is a build Ive been working on the last month or so. Based around a 1957/58 Raleigh Moderne frame I acquired. 23" DB 531 tubing and beautiful hand crafted lugs really mark out this one as a classic. Ive badged it as a Lenton Sports - cant get RRA decals at the moment and I hate a bike not having an identity! Anyway just a few bits to sort and a test ride beckons...

The machine is running 49/28 gearing - Ive fitted an old Simplex to handle the bigger sprocket. Brakes are Altenburger dual pivot Synchons from the 1960s - a fave of mine, they are simple and work very effectively - especially with modern 70mm pads. Saddle is a B17 in brown with NOS Bluemels All Rounder guards.

So much classier looking and more durable than modern road bikes I think.

I do like a nice pair of pencil stays. I hope the dual-pivot won't unduly stress them.
