Well I suppose they found it so it's up to them. Surely you'd want a nation with a glorious beer heritage to be looking after this baby, Britain or Belgium natch. :smile:

I wouldn't have minded being invited to the tasting, would've been interesting to try some 200 year old beer - it would top the 25 year old Hardy's Ale I've tried by some some margin.

The oldest bottled beer I've got is some Shipstone's from the mid-eighties - I bet it's as crap now as the day it was bottled!

Collectors item though Mort! I've got some bottled beer of a similar age celebrating something to do with Coventry although I can't remember what. Picked it up at a carboot sale, I've never tried it for the same reason as you - I know it's going to taste like shite.
