Our first annual get together will be in Derby at the Big Cycle Weekend (Markeaton Park, Derby) on 11/12th July, 2009.

I'm up for it being a mass picnic where we can all get to meet each other in person. ;)

The event will be running from 10am until 4pm on Saturday 11 and Sunday
12 July. Event details can be found at www.cyclederby.co.uk with more
regular updates on whose going to be attending.

As well as being an ideal opportunity to meet fellow CC'ers, the weekend will include lots of family cycling activities aimed at the local community plus from Cyclemagic there will be cycling history, a big tryout, special needs cycling and loads of silliness from the likes of Wobbly John. There will also be BMX stuff and the legendary Five Parks Ride around Derby on the Sunday to be started by Nigel Clough.

We can, of course, organise our own rides if we so wish.

I'm hoping to stay overnight to be there for both days, and am looking forward to meeting you all.

I've started a thread for chatting about the meet-up, in case people want to lift-share or post details of trains, accommodation, etc.

I'll also (in due course) attach a PDF CC name plate so we can pin our CC and, optionally, real names on our backs if we want to.

Thanks to Roger the Hilldodger for suggesting BCW, and to those who offered their assistance on the original locations too - it was much appreciated.

I realise not everyone will be able to make it, but there'll be another one next year.

Cheers,
Shaun
